The 18th Century Back in Fashion


Exhibition in Paris

The Palace of Versailles and the Musée Galliera present an exhibition in the apartments of the Grand Trianon dedicated to the influence of the 18th century on modern fashion.
From 8 July to 9 October 2011, an exhibition of couturiers and fashion designers awaits you in the Grand Trianon.

Haute couture collection, Spring/Summer 2005. White evening dress in washed silk faille, wide pleats front and back down from the neckline, ending in the back train, with corseted bustier, large blue satin ribbon around the bust and tied in a bow in front and round gilt metal broach decorated with beads and flowers. Dress inspired by court dresses of the 18th century, called “robes à la française” Collection archives de la Maison Chanel.
